A Brief Personal IntroductionArticles published on Malt ManiacsCurrent Top 10 single malt whiskiesMalt Mileage - number of sampled single malts

Ah, yes - a brief introduction...
That's harder than it sounds, at least for me. Those of you who stumbled across this site may have found out the hard way that I have a tendency to go on and on and on. But perhaps I should worry about where to begin first.
How about at the beginning?

It all began in 1966, when I was born - very successfully, I might add.
After a relatively uneventful childhood in one of the backwards provinces of Holland and an academic career during which I excelled as an underachiever I moved to Amsterdam to pursue my dreams. I worked in advertising and publishing for almost a decade before I discovered the Internet in 1995. The rest, as they say, is history. I'm currently working as an E-Strategist. I spend a fair share of my time doing what I love most; talking and thinking about the amazing possibilities of Internet - and I get paid to do it, too! The fact that I'm maintaining several personal Internet projects in my spare time should say something about the fun I'm having doing it. Malt Maniacs,
Malt Madness, Weird Planet , NerdQuake and DreamZone are just some of the projects I'm involved with.

And what about my leisurely activities?
Next to sipping and sniffing as many single malts as humanly possible, I enjoy reading, writing and working on my web projects. Music is very important to me as well. Some of my favourite composers are Arvo Pärt, Josquin Desprez, J.S. Bach, Richard Wagner, Gustav Mahler, Giacomo Puccini and Tomaso Albinoni. I live by 'the pleasure principle', so I love a good meal too. Amsterdam has thousands of interesting little restaurants, so my stomach gets all the entertainment it can.. er... stomach.

Well, that was pretty brief, wasn't it?
Check out the general
introduction to this website for more personal details.

Actually, most of my writings are published in the Liquid Log - I've written well over 120 entries so far.
That doesn't mean I don't chime in with the occasional E-pistle on Malt Maniacs, though.
