A Brief Personal IntroductionArticles published on Malt ManiacsCurrent Top 10 single malt whiskiesMalt Mileage - number of sampled single malts

I am a direct convert from Johannes - thank you very much, man!
In 1999 I was told by a British friend to try a single malt instead of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label I used to like then. I looked at the SMSW resources on the web and of course MaltMadness was the most comprehensive site I could find. Around new year 1999/2000 a friend brought me a bottle of Glenmorangie 10yo, and there was no way back from there.

Malts are practically unavailable in Israel because of some ridiculous taxation, a bottle of my beloved Lagavulin 16yo costs around $160-180. Luckily, I've been able to travel a lot during last two years and have been smuggling the water of life every time in very nice quantities. Also, I had three tasting sessions with other certified malt maniacs - Klaus, then Louis, and later - the magnificent JOLT over midsummernight with Johannes, Klaus, Serge and Davin, which also helped a lot to improve my malt mileage.
