Malt Maniacs #0, 1997 - 2001

Before we officially launched 'Malt Maniacs' in 2002, our congregation of certifiable malt madmen had been growing organically for a couple of years. It all started in 1996, when I published a few pages about my personal experiences with single malt Scotch whisky on the world wide web.

Between 1997 and 2001 Craig has been our most prolific correspondent. He has been sending us monthly reports of the adventures of the 'Earls of Zetland' - perhaps Australia's noblest whisky club.

This '0' issue of Malt Maniacs contains all the reports that were written by the foreign correspondents for the previous version this site, before the team expanded and transformed into the Malt Maniacs that roam the face of the earth today. Because these articles were written before the E-pistles that are published on Malt Maniacs we've called them 'prE-pistles'.

After I decided to include their reports on the site we quickly grew into a virtual collective, exchanging experiences, observations and ideas - just like a real whisky club.
